#20210503 - BSc nursing 3rd year student from Pondicherry

This student has approached Aalayam for help with his fees for the second year of a nursing degree. He has been a bright student since school. His father who is a daily wager does not help the family financially. The student's grandfather, who has a military pension of Rs. 20,000 per month, is the one who is managing the household expenses. The student's mother is a homemaker and he has two elder brothers who earn enough to manage their own families.

The student, his parents and grandfather live in a dilapidated house. He had dreams of joining medicine but could not make it and chose nursing. The total fees per year is Rs. 1.25 lakh as it is a private college. In the first year, the student paid the amount by borrowing the sum and with some small savings. However, he is unable to get any funds this year and could not avail of a bank loan either.

After a review, Aalayam has decided to assist the student with a sum of Rs. 50,000 towards fees.
