#20170605 - BE 2nd year Mechanical student from Krishnagiri

This student is pursuing his second year of a B.E. Mechanical  programme in a college near Krishnagiri. His mother earns some income from the 100 days of wage employment under the Rural Employment Guarantee Act. His father is a labourer in a hollow block manufacturing facility but does not contribute to the household income as he drinks heavily.

The mother is keen on a good education for her sons. The student's older brother is pursuing his final year of a B.E. course in the same college with his fees met through loans from a women's self-help group. The family lives in a house owned by the grandparents. They do not have toilet facilities at home.

The grandparents own about half an acre of land but they could not raise crops because of poor rainfall.

After review, Aalayam has decided to support the student for tuition fee payment of Rs. 40,000
