Beneficiary is from Vellore and studying 1st year nursing in the same city. He lives with his parents in a small house which was given by govt. in 1990. His elder sister is married and living with her husband.
His father is a drunkard and not supporting the family. His father wants the beneficiary to go to work rather than studying. Mother is a sick person and not able to work. Currently she is getting treament from government hospital. During holidays beneficiary goes for 100 days job scheme and other coolie to help his family.
This student scored 935/1200 in HSc. With no support from family, he is still very interested in studies. He was referred to Aalayam by another student who recently got help from us.
The total tuition fees amount is Rs.75,000. He was able to pay Rs.10,000 with help from friends. He also received Rs.30,000 as govt. scholarship. He is in need of balance Rs.35,000. Our volunteer met this student and mother during inperson review.
